Further education has already won high marks for subtlety from David Melville, future chief executive of the Further Education Funding Council for England.
News of his appointment, he told the Association of Principals of Colleges, has brought in a rain of letters from principals mentioning that their own college has a major capital request under consideration by FEFC Q and inviting Melville, if the bid succeeds, to open the building when the work is complete.
