Contact Peter Thornton

Background

Peter is an engineering and MBA graduate with extensive business and management experience across many industries and functions.

He specialises in the design, development and delivery of executive development programmes. He has worked with organisations across continents to deliver educational programmes that develop their focus, align their efforts and improve their processes to more effectively deliver their business goals.

Peter was Executive Development Director within the Centre for Customised Executive Development at ߣߣÊÓƵ School of Management from 2004 to 2012 and previously worked for 15 years in industry with Mercedes-Benz UK and the Rover Group. He also runs his own consultancy business and is an Associate Industrial Fellow at the University of Cambridge, Institute for Manufacturing.

Peter is British Psychological Society qualified to Level A and B with experience in using many psychological instruments. He has a B.Eng (Hons) in Engineering and an MBA from Warwick University as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching, Learning & Assessment in Higher Education from ߣߣÊÓƵ.

Current activities

Peter has worked on the design and delivery of the UK Government Project Leadership Programme since 2015 together with Mike Bourne as well as working with a number of other universities and clients. He is Programme Director for the Breakthrough Leadership Programme, part of ߣߣÊÓƵ's Leadership Transitions Portfolio.
