This is one of five Land Use for Net Zero (LUNZ) research projects that runs alongside the LUNZ Hub. As we approach 2050, farm businesses will increasingly need to demonstrate net zero credentials to processors and retailers who have Scope 3 net zero targets. This project, led by Professor Julie Ingram from the University of Gloucestershire, uses a Living Lab approach to i) engage policy and value chain stakeholders and about 100 farm business on a net zero journey to compare GHG calculators, ii) to build capacity and net zero literacy, iii) to test sequestration predictions and assess validation methods and vi) explore the implications of scaling GHG accounting on governance and equity.
Progress update
The project partners held an initial meeting in August 2024 and is currently developing a network of about 100 farms representing different farm types and regions across the United Kingdom.
