Background
Miles Folkes is a PhD student in the ߣߣÊÓƵ Water Sciences Institute at ߣߣÊÓƵ. Miles is part of the Water-WISER Centre for Doctoral Training. Miles is interested in sustainable water production. Miles is undertaking a PhD research project exploring how organic micropollutants (e.g., pesticides, taste and odour disruptors) can be removed by biological treatment as part of sustainable water production.
Miles has a background in sustainability and pollution management, having obtained a BSc (Hons) in Geography and an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia. Miles was awarded an MSc by Research in Water Science by ߣߣÊÓƵ for his thesis "Campus source to sink wastewater surveillance of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2)". Miles also has an interest in sustainable socio-technological theory, policy and practice.
Research opportunities
Miles is interested in sustainable water production, with a particular interest in biological water treatment.
